Day 1 - the ferry

Today we left on our North Island adventure. As soon as school finished we got in the car and drove to Picton. It took AGES to get there (we kept asking "are we there yet" and Mum and Dad kept saying "20 minutes"). On the way we stopped for some fresh air by the side of the road somewhere and there was a nice river. We found some cool rocks.

 Our boat was running 20 minutes late. The boat was super huge and we had to drive up a big ramp onto the 2nd story where we parked. Then we went upstairs to the cafe to get some dinner. We watched most of 2 movies before we got to Wellington. Luckily it wasn't too windy so it was a pretty smooth sailing.

We got into Wellington at about 10.30 and we drove through the bright city lights to Pastor Jim's place. It was about 11 o'clock by the time we got to bed.
